with paddles mounted onto the stearing column..its usually easier for tracking..that is the reason for the design...a turn at a high speed with the paddle on an odd side of the steering wheel can cause some difficulty..if its mounted to the coulumn its always in one place...i have a gtr and its so much easier mounted on the column then on my dct cars.....however it IS all about preference ;-)
