Yeah, I missed out on fame and glory on television and video. I defer to the better ice drivers.
Actually, I was more interested in pushing the limits rather than booking great times. When ice surprises, it's usually at or over the limits and I wanted a sense of what the car would do. Puttering slow is effective for the race times, but I'm not likely to be puttering when black ice unexpectedly puts the slip on my tires on the highway. I've driven in icy winters for many years now, but rarely have had the chance to deliberately push the limits (safely) to get the feel over the line.
