A VF540 installed, then upgraded to a VF620 will cost more in the end rather than purchasing the VF620 outright due to the additional labor costs involved. The manifold is removed for heat exchanger installation, pulleys swapped. On the VF systems, the supercharger bracket must be removed for belt changes.
You've essentially uninstalled 50% of the kit going this route. You can never recoup labor in resale.
If funds permit, simply get the intercooled kit.

The kit isnt installed yet so all of this can be done when he installs the kit upgraded. This negates extra labor cost.
