Yeah, I was wondering about that too.
Looks like a relief cut for the curvature. The good news is that it appears to not be visible from the rear and above. The weave looks to be aligned there. Look right at the "top" edge which is the rear edge of the diffuser actually. I trust that the other side, which is not visible in the picture but will be on the car is lined up. The part we're seeing should be hidden from any direct view and the exhaust tips are there filling up that space as well.
Nate - Are they all like this? Is my guess that there is alignment of the weave on the visible portion of the diffuser correct? Thanks.
