Maybe each person's opinion of what a jolt means is the problem here. Some might think you feel the car shudder which in my car's case is not how I find it. The jolt is a slight jolt felt through the lever as the clutch engages.
OP, is this what you are meaning or is it altogether more noticeable than that?
