The owner of the E90 was in a bit of a hurry, and installed the bootlid himself rather quickly, and wasn't concerned too much about fitting the bootlid just right. There's a bit more adjustment to be done, but I assure you, once the latch is adjusted properly, the bootlid fits perfectly.
