Out of curiosity, would we still get these announcements, if there was a decline in sales? I just want to make sure that we're getting objective news here and not just company propoganda.

Check the data table at the end. The non-bold values represent the declining results. Obviously BMW wouldn't make a press release announcing a decline, but these numbers are constantly updated and available every quarter on BMW Press website. I believe they are required to post them, whether it is a rise or a decline.
