Angry I was wrong but…!

I pull into a parking lot that I am not familiar with, I see that there aren’t many parking spaces available so I take one that is reserved for parents with small children (I am with my 1year old). We go in and shop on my way out I notice a shopping cart up against my new car. I inspect the damage and notice a deep scratch on the bumper. Upon further investigation I see that I parked in the wrong spot and unintentionally blocked the space provided for the kid friendly shopping carts. Conveniently located nearby was an alternate “drop” area. Now why must the person who did this damage my car, if they had such a big problem with my actions why not report me to the center management or rather write me a rude note using lipstick or something why do damage to other peoples property when you don’t have all the facts?
