yes, as far as I understand.
I'm looking at it like this, if i buy a used car.. it is my responsibility to do all checks on that vehicle. I do not see how you (the buyer) could be liable for anything. (Unless you choose not to disclose certain info) such as accurate mileage, salvaged title etc.
