By law in my state the land lord must provide either a copy of rights or let you know where to get a copy of the rights from the state. In AZ you go to the secretary of state to get a copy (I think its online also). I have no doubt CA has something similar.. But mostly it applies to rights of entry and evictions along with rules of rent and deposits and correcting defects.
