The M division had definitely strayed from what I thought was the motor sport division. While I appreciate the economics of the X5M and X6M (See Cayenne), I am losing interest in the brand as it loses exclusivity and purity. If they actually decide to use to a rough and thrashy V6 instead of the naturally balanced I6 in the upcoming M3, it may be the straw that sends me to different pastures.
There was a thread a while back about the E92 M3 being a little underwhelming in terms of acceleration, and since I read it I can't help but think of the possibilities that could be had if our cars were designed 500 pounds lighter, but had retained our soulful, high revving, naturally aspirated lumps.
