In Germany you can choose I believe what octane you want but not here there's only one choice.

I just visited Italy last week and I filled with Super Plus at Agip. Once I got to the cashier, they asked me to pay for two more liters (with coupons). I'm guessing it's the same way everywhere.
In Germany, it's based on how much money you have in your card, so we don't have that problem.
