on the 5 series, the 530 is 320 lbs lighter than the 550
some of that is probably equipment(same reason 330 weighs more than 325), plus the M version of the V8 should be lighter than the 550 V8 due to no valvetronic
I really hope they do pull out the stops and go high tech to make the car light!!!
