The M3 is a better DD but since you only drive these cars on the weekend, I would recommend you look into a used GT3 or Cayman R. The 997.1s isn't too different from the M3 performance wise so I don't think the trade is justifiable. Maybe you can look into a 996/7.1 turbo as well, those are really fun as well.
