AS even offers multiple levels of throw reduction: on my E46 I had 40% shorter throw and it felt amazing on the racetrack, maybe too much for the street so they offer between 20-30%

AS was supposed to have one in development but they never came out with a SSK for the E9x cars.
As far as an SSK I have the ZHP knob and am very satisfied with it. I had the UUC SSK with DSSR in my E46 and wasn't that happy with it until I added a weighted knob to the shifter. My point being get a weighted knob first and then see how you like it.
