TheAcAvenger,

Thanks for the support but I never wanted to turn this into a BMW vs Audi thread as there is enough of them else where, the debate is meant to be about which is better the M5 or M6 and that is really where it should stay. I may add that I agree with everything you posted but looking at the data you supplied there is one thing which is bugging me, the RS4's ring time of 7:58, surely that is not the official time as it's meant to be 8:09. If I am correct then you would have to allow the other cars the same.

I agree that Audi are best known for luxury all weather cars and the occasional sportscar (RS4, R8 and soon to be join by others). The interesting thing to me that I noticed in your data is the difference in wet lap times between the RS4 and the R8, we know that the two use totally different awd systems with the R8 only able to move up to 30% of it's power to the front, great for driver input but looking at the figures it's much poorer in wet handling grip. If only Audi could come up with a system which matched the driving appeal of the R8 with the all weather performance of the original Quattro.

I am actually looking forward to see what the new Sports diff that both BMW and Audi will be adding to their respective awd cars, BMW will be first with the X6 and Audi will follow hopefully sometime this year, in the Audi it's to be added to the original Quattro system. Will this give the extra entertainment I and others are looking for while still retaining the extra safety in the wet.

Only time will tell, but I hope so as I would like to consider another Audi in the future.
