So, I noticed that there is a bit to flip to allow the e9x CIC iDrive to enable an auto mode... but it doesn't work. Works fine on the 5 series and 7 series.

I'm curious, has anyone figured out if there is a missing piece of hardware?

I can't imagine there being one, as the car knows if the lights are on or off and it has light sensors for brightness of the iDrive screen. Seems silly to have another component to do that... Is there another module that has to be coded?
