My experience with dual clutch transmissions is limited to the M3, so I’m no authority. IMO, the clutch programming in this transmission is simply not compatible with the type of standing start acceleration required in drag racing. I suppose with practice, and assuming you had the Christmas tree start at a legal drag strip, you could get the launch program timing down so it works well. But as others have said, as good as DCT is in many respects, you have found one of its weaknesses. But it’s great on a road course, since the shifts are perfect and it frees your left foot for braking in all turns, regardless of shifting requirements.
