Also if you run 255/35 and a 275/35 or something of the like, the overall diameter is about .75" less for both the front and rear. That would mean a larger gap from tire to wheel well, so if you're not lowered, it might look unsightly.
That's why most people would run 255/40 and 275/40 on 18" wheels. Many are running 255/35 and 275/35 on 19" wheels without any issues.
