I got the cradle from BMW which was listed in their parts catalog. At the time I assumed that the smartphone integration was fine the cradle completed it for the iPhone. The cradle on the back said V1.0. I snaps into the center console fine and the phone works perfectly, just not the music. I tried plugging my iPhone into the USB port and it gave me a warning that the USB was not designed for the iPhone, yet worked fine along with the music (charges, full phonebook, charges, etc.). The only thing missing is hooking up with the car antenna for better reception.
The iPhone cradle is a very tight fit and if you have a case on your phone, you need to remove the case to snap into the cradle. I didn't like that. I have since returned the old cradle for a refund.
