Happened to me yesterday.
Over the course of 13,000 miles, it's occured way too many times. It's unfortunate in my opinion that BMW went with the ZF tranny in this car over the 6 Speed Getrag unit that is present in the E46 m3. IMO, it's a much more well suited tranny.
