They will neither be ceramic nor advanced engineering composite (carbon). They will be composite in the sense that the hub is aluminum and the rotor is either cast iron or steel and they are pinned together. This has been around at BMW least as far back as Euro E36 M3. Ceramic pads may be an option. True ceramic composite (meaning ceramic combined with other materials) brakes are available on many P-cars.

Sure would have been cool if these were to come on the new M3 but I'd bet my car they won't.
