Do you run a business etc.? Because if you do, leasing gives better tax advantages than buying outright.
It is good to look at the financial side of owning a car, but in the end it all comes down to needs vs. wants. I mean, a Civic would serve the same transportation needs as an M3, but obviously the latter would be more fun...
