I think it would be stupid if BMW decided to ignore its potential customer base and stick with MTs because that's "pure". Your situation is a great example of this. But I hope that M continues to offer MT's.

Actually, no. Its a PIA for drifting. Clutch kick? No. Only option is to give it a bootfull which, at least for a drifting noob, is not the best option.
