It's a lot easier to learn to do it while just slowing down and you don't have to worry about your speed for the turn ahead. It's all about practice (in a real car) and soon it will be second nature.

+1 I did that to practice heel and toe and its the best way to master it. One thing i should mention is don't take heel and toeing word for word. I don't use my heel or toes. I put half of my foot on the brake pedal and the other half on the gas pedal and just kinda twist it to get the revs up. I have big ass feet so that works for me donno about you.
