Sorry to hear about having to deal with that. I've a car of mine stolen TWICE... It really sucks have to go through that, especially if the car had a lot of value to you.

As far as how hard a BMW is to steal, I think the others have it right. They can be broken into like any car. It isn't hard to defeat a tumbler lock or bash in a window or use a half dozen little tricks to get in.

However, stealing the car I believe will be quite a bit more difficult than a Honda. I think the key may be chipped? Not 100% sure but I don't think you can start the car with just turning the ignition. There is more to it than that. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in...
