I would think that you could sell your used Akra X-pipe for a good dollar and then it wouldn't cost you too much for the 200 CPI version.
The metal catalyst substrate used in performance applications such as these are not well suited to soot reduction..... In fact most catalyst are not really good with dealing with soot (particulate matter) hence the addition of DPF's in diesels now a days.
Soot is mostly related to a mixture that is too rich and the soot you see is a result of unburned fuel, basically your software is contributing more to your soot issue than your 100CPI cats are.
