I personally would not combine with non-Dinan products, but that is just me. If I went Dinan, I would do Dinan only. I have seen them refuse warranty work before. I could already see them saying "I am sorry our software is only approved to work with our midpipe, we can't provide warranty work." It would not be the first time they tried that move.
