Even if you figure out the basics, there are probably some tuning secrets (relationships between different parameters) that you won't know. The kit makers won't help you compete with them, so I would look at the other tuners like Mike Benvo and Bren aka M3DCTBT.

No need for the YSi Trim unless you are planning on more than a T Trim or Si Trim can provide, which is in the 600+ rwhp range. And you need a built low compression motor for that or E85.
