I used the 8" and had room to spare, so if you're going for the right side the plugs are actually on that side so you'll be closer. Factor in that you're going over the V1 though and the 12" may be a smarter bet just for insurance, and there's plenty of dead space inside that plastic housing to tuck any extra cord.
