There is a certain threshold of usable daily performance. This car, as well as the M3 are arguably over that threshold. After that point, whether it's faster or slower doesn't really matter quite so much as the enjoyment of the car overall.

I'd be willing to bet very few people that buy any Aston Martins ever track them anyways; so whatever speed it has, as long as it is fun, is enough. Not to mention the exhaust note is great.

The biggest drawback is the maintenance costs, though I can't really speak towards reliability.
