true, as I said it is still used. But outside of max lift competitions, and the bench press is not a world cup or olympic powerlifting event, the more widely used standard is how many reps at a given weight. An intereting question is "how much can you deadlift" or "how much can you clean and jerk" (no sex comments!). I doubt more than a couple people here can even do a hang clean or power clean, let alone know what one is. I'm sure we'll get some interesting guesses soon!

Even in the strongest man competitions, those knowledgeable of the "sport" are looking more at how many reps at a given weight.
