Just saw this and reminded me to check. Its 6mm. Yes you need to bed the pads. I have driven on them to and from the track as well as for a few days when I know I have another track day. They do start to get a little noisy once they clean up the rotors after a track day. I just drove to Watkins Glen for an event to and from with the F3R pads on the front.
