I just cleaned the filter this weekend...
It is pain in the ass to get the filter on and off the car. The stock filter has a bit of flex in it so you can slip it in and out. The AA filter is so stiff you really have to muscle it to get it to fit in. Took me a good 30 minutes to get it back in the car and I had to take the whole inlet pipe off.
The cleaning process is simple but re-oiling is a pain in the ass as well. I get uneven blotches of green all over the filter and I had to go over it a few times to make sure I got oil on the whole filter. Even then it seems like the oil doesn't go all the way inside the pleats. Also have to be careful not to over oil... Really annoying.
