I wasn't clear about this. Most will have some wear on OEM pads since they use them everyday. For a noob...be sure to put in some new pads. As the pads get lower, they wear faster and transfer more heat to your brake fluid. For example, it might take 4 days to wear a new pad to 50% but it might take 2 to wear a 50% pad down to the backing plate. Then your dust boot will catch fire...ask me how I know.
Reminds me...I am going to add measuring rotor and pad thickness to my post track checks.

What's the best way to measure rotor thickness? Any specific caliper?
