Sorry for the emotion, but I've gone through ~1 year of hell with the dam fluttering/buffeting noise that BMW's SIB
did not fix. Oh well, no longer my problem

No, after my 335i E93 experience I would not trust either BMW or my dealer's promise of no noise. I've contact several 2008 M3 E93 owners and had them perform the test. So if in fact the M3 E93 deck lid is the same as the 335i E93 deck lid (and I don't think that is true, especially for the 2009 M3 E93), something has changed because the 2008 M3 E9s owners for some reason don't experience the noise.
