In the end it depends whether you finance or buy outright. Assuming that if you buy through a dealer and use BMWFS and they have a decent rate, you could save on finance charges. Also, depending on the state you live and the taxes they charge. For me, nc charges a 3% highway usage tax. Typically the best rates only come out on bmw's right at the end of the model year. So, when the dealerships stateside could come close to the military sales, you can order a new model year, exactly specified car and not have to get a left over car that may not have exactly the options you like. In addition, you will still save a few thousand typically because the price before your states taxes (which includes import duties) is eight thousand under MSRP.
