I've owned a D1 procharged 2006 Mustang it was fun, made 523rwhp and 493rwtq, but it's nothing compared to my Shelby GT500 with the roots hybrid blower. Torque on demand makes a big difference. My friend has a 600rwhp TT Mustang that's a lot of fun as well. I really think I'd prefer a turbo on an M3 as opposed to a centrifugal or roots. The turbo would also be more effecient that both of those. Only problem is where the hell do you put anything?
