Absolutely a better comparison.
However the 2JZ is still the better engine. More durable and can withstand more than the RB, and you also don't have to deal with MAFs. The advantage the RB has however is response and it's a little lighter. In Japan, parts are plentiful for the RB, but here you're looking at more than 1.5x the cost of fully building a proper RB26 as opposed to a 2JZ.
Thank God this isn't a 2JZ-GTE vs. LS7 convo...yet.
