As I recall the request for a car was to reshoot a scene, like maybe they couldn't get the same car for the studio segment as was used on track (now we know why :-)
The show had some potential, but losing the basketball player (John?) and cutting it to a half hour killed the chemistry of the studio segments. They had one terrific show a couple weeks ago, and most of the early shows had some pretty good segments.
I don't think it'll come back, which is sad because everyone on there really did like cars and weren't a bunch of idiots like you see on pimp my ride and the other lifestyle crap on speed.
