I live right by GW bridge and often drive/commute to lower manhattan, i've used V1 all along, and you are right... yes it does give a lot of X false alarms both in the city and around NJ bergen county areas.
But you canalways program to turn off X band if you are really bothered by it.
Honestly, when I have the sound off during daily use, it really doesn't bother me much... i jus pay attention when there's KA or K band...
