I believe it's a well-established fact that leased vehicles (personal and corporate) have a higher incidence of abuse and neglect than non-leased vehicles. This is true across all makes. While there are many leased vehicles that are properly cared for by their owners, there's a higher percentage of leased vehicle owners that just don't care because they know that they're tossing the keys back at the end of the lease term. On a vehicle-by-vehicle basis, there's no way to know what you have. Hence the inspection by a BMW dealer.
