They were coming from each of the cylinder head areas where I had just replaced the spark plugs. I don't know whether the ticking has been there for a while. But now it is very noticeable. May take the car to the dealership during the week and get them to lodge a PUMA case just to put my mind at rest. Hopefully nothing dramatic and expensive. The car is five years old.

Take a video or sound clip and send it to me. It's probably normal. All of the M cars have noticeable valvetrain noise.
