Because the fact that others are engaging in dangerous behavior has no effect on the probability of accident/death/dismemberment of your dangerous behavior. That others are doing dangerous things, doesn't give you license to do dangerous things or make them any safer.

No, it's not a certainty, but the statistics overwhelmingly point in that direction. Lack of driving experience + lack of maturity + multiple distractions are not a good combination.
