to get back on topic.... i've got another one. back in college I had an e34 Dinan M5. I loved that car.
One night, I picked a girl up for a date. As we drove away, she said:
"WOW, I've never been in one of the big BMWs with a stick shift!"
I guess at least she noticed it was a stick.
And I remember one time I was pulled over by a State Trooper in the M5. Got a warning for speeding. But while he wrote the warning we had a short conversation about the car:
trooper: "so, how fast does this thing go?"
me: "Not sure, well over 160 though."
trooper: "well shit, my cruiser only gets up to 140!"
me: (joking) "huh, I guess I'm wasting my time then..."
