Swamp has it right, strait currency conversion isn't the tell-tale sign of reasoning. USA is BMW's biggest market and they must compete in that market. I think many of you world wide forget that the Big Three are here in the states and still make decent cars which BMW, Mercedes, Saab and other must compete against.

Coupe starts @ $44,900 (MSRP) in reality you'll get it at about 3-5 K less.
Convertible starts @ $53,000 and Z06 @ $70,000
BTW, you guys are right about the pricing, my comments meant to be funny, but I guess it wasn't.
