I am just reading your post after I washed my car. The wash water probably cleaned the exhaust tips insides. So will have to wait on checking that.
Blue smoke would a giveaway for burned oil, it is a good idea worth checking.

You can also pull a plug or two and check for oil burning, and/or examine the back of a few throttle plates.
