IMO it is not a bad thing to have done. The steering wheel sensor is an input to the DSC. If it gets a eroneous reading it could trigger DSC intervention when it is not required.

I have it done every time I get the car aligned. Usually, if there was no toe adjustment required, the sensor reading would be OK. However, if the the tie rods were played with, then the sensor could be off by a few degrees.

I remember a member on the forum that kept having DSC cutting power as he was driving in a straight line.
