Why not use a 275/35 instead on the rear? Is it not in stock?

I would not recommend running a 295 mm rear winter tire - that just sounds too wide for a rear winter tire, especially when the stock width is only 265. I'd be afraid of the rear losing traction much more quickly in snow than the front which would make turning and even straight line driving dangerous - the tire won't be able to "push" the snow out of the way.
