I agree with those who say the name doesn't really matter. It's all about experience and who you know. I got my first engineering job because my best friend (not related to Dartmouth) put in a good word at his firm.
There were many more doors opened for me out of school because I went to UW Madison and was a Badger compared to what I had through who I knew. This may not be true for every field, however.
